The cutest family proposal! Read on to see how Matt (and their children) surprised Ann with her stunning, new ring in Newport, RI. On behalf of the entire Long's team, congratulations and best of luck.
"We met online."
"It took me quite awhile to come up with something fun yet meaningful for the proposal. I didn't want to tip her off so I ended up planning it in conjunction with family photos. We're a blended family, having a daughter from a previous relationship as well as having a newborn child ourselves, and I knew I wanted to include them both in the proposal.
I started the day by dropping her off at a spa so she could enjoy a relaxing morning getting pampered. While she was there, I was able to get the kids ready and work out some of the final details. I picked her up shortly after lunch and we traveled to our photo session for an early evening shoot. Our location was the Castle Hill Inn just outside of Newport although she wasn't aware of this until we arrived.
The photo shoot went extremely well. We did an outdoor session and the sunset was gorgeous. About halfway through the shoot everything was set in motion. I presented her with a wrapped gift. Inside was a kindle set to play a pre-recorded video. The video included myself as well as both children. We listed several things we loved about her on signs and had it set to music. The video ended with a sign asking her to turn around. As she did, my daughter was holding a chalkboard sign up asking Ann to be her Stepmother.
It all went extremely well and she was so excited! As my daughter came over to hug her, I knelt down on one knee and asked her to marry me. Thankfully she said yes and we were able to finish out the shoot with some great engagement photos."
"The ring was designed by A. Jaffe, and is a round halo with a 2.26 carat center stone."
