Creating new memories from family treasures! Read on to see how Jason surprised Justine with her beautiful and sentimental, new ring in Portland. On behalf of the entire Long's team, congratulations and best of luck.
How did the two of you meet?
"Jason and I met while we were both students at Bentley University."
How did he propose?
"My Nana (my dad's mother) passed away ten years ago; I think were similar in spirit. She left me her jewelry, including her antique three-stone engagement ring. Her and my Papa had a long and happy marriage so I knew there was love in the ring. Right away I knew I wanted to use her diamonds and redesign the ring to reflect my own personality.
Jason knew I had a vision for this ring and encouraged me to design it myself. So without telling me when he would propose, he told me to start working on the ring. In the spring, I brought a drawing to Long's and they built a 3D model of the ring. The model looked perfect, so we had it made. Jason picked it up and held on to the ring until July 7th.
On that day, Jason and I (and our dog, Beta), drove up to his hometown of Portland, Maine. We kayaked in the ocean out to Fort Gorges. Once we were at the top, just the three of us, he grabbed the Long's box out of the backpack and got down on one knee to ask me to marry him.
Not only am I happy to be engaged to love of my life, but I feel I have my Nana's blessing and strong spirit in this ring. Thank you Long's, for making that possible."
