Each jewelry designer has their own unique backstory. Many times the origin of a brand can influence the style of the jewelry. Currently in our vintage and estate collection, we have four designers, each with their own history and style. Keep reading to see some of our favorite pieces and learn how BVLGARI, Van Cleef & Arpels, Judith Ripka, and Roberto Coin came to be!

BVLGARI

1. BULGARI 18K WHITE GOLD DIAMOND B.ZERO1 NECKLACE
SOLD!

2. BULGARI 18K WHITE GOLD DIAMOND SERPENTI RING
SOLD!

Bulgari was founded in 1884 by Sotir Bulgari. Bulgari started his career as a jeweler in a small Greek village. In 1877, he left Greece for Naples, and by 1881 he ended up in Rome. It was in Rome that he founded his company, and opened the Via Sistina store, which would later be replaced by the current flagship store on Via Condotti. The company was kept in the family for generations until 2011 when it was acquired by LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE. Bulgari jewelry design is very distinctive. In the 1970s, many of the more expensive Bulgari pieces were instantly recognized by their bold, architectural designs, which combined large and weighty gold links with interlocking steel. Bulgari is also famous for colored stones, especially sapphires mixed in unique formats. Bulgari pieces have been worn by a long list of celebrities including Sophia Loren, Emma Watson, and, of course, Elizabeth Taylor. We have two fabulous Bulgari pieces in our collection. First is a B.Zero1 diamond necklace set in 18k white gold. The pendant is pave set with full cut diamonds. Next is an 18k white gold diamond Serpenti ring. The flexible ring is designed with two rows of pave set diamonds. You can't go wrong with either piece!

Van Cleef & Arpels

    1. VAN CLEEF & ARPELS LION BROOCH CLIP
      SOLD!

Van Cleef & Arpels is a jewelry company founded in love. Towards the end of the 19th century, Estelle Arpels, the daughter of a dealer in precious stones, married Alfred Van Cleef, the son of a stone cutter. Driven by their passion for precious stones and their desire to create something lasting together, in 1906, Alfred and Estelle, along with her brother Charles, opened the first Van Cleef & Arpels store in Paris. In only a short amount of time, Van Cleef & Arpels became known for some of the most exquisite jewelry in the world. Their jewelry often features flowers, animals, and fairies. It has been worn by style icons like Grace Kelly, Elizabeth Taylor and Wallis Simpson, the Duchess of Windsor. In 1966, they were charged with task of creating the crown for Empress Farah Pahlavi of Iran’s upcoming coronation. Currently in our collection, we have an adorable Van Cleef & Arpels lion pin. The lion is set with ten single cut diamonds, two round cut emerald eyes, and a black enamel nose. A necessary addition to any collection!

Judith Ripka

  1. JUDITH RIPKA STERLING SILVER AND 18K YELLOW GOLD DIAMOND PENDANT/ENHANCER
    ESCH1815 || $1,260 || SHOP NOW

Known as the Queen of Hearts, Judith Ripka started her own jewelry business over 40 years ago. What began as a childhood hobby of playing in her mother’s jewelry box and tying heart charms to her belt, turned into a lifelong love of jewelry and design. After studying design at Parsons School of Design, her first job was as an assistant jewelry buyer at the May Company. Although she loved her job there, she decided to take a giant leap of faith, quit her job and start making my own jewelry. Today you can find her designs in stores worldwide. Each piece by Judith Ripka incorporates a matte finish, texturing, vibrant color, and, of course, hearts. We love this sterling silver and 18k yellow gold diamond pendant! The circle pendant is pave set with 25 full cut diamonds.

Roberto Coin

  1. ROBERTO COIN 18K YELLOW GOLD DIAMOND CAPRI PENDANT
    SOLD!

The Roberto Coin brand, founded by jewelry designer Roberto Coin, was born in 1996 in Vicenza, and quickly became a world-renowned luxury brand. Roberto Coin jewelry is influenced by a variety of different cultures as well as the world of nature. It blends centuries-old Italian craftsmanship and modern design techniques to create one-of-a-kind, innovative pieces. Each piece of Roberto Coin jewelry is signed with a small ruby casted inside, so it has direct contact with the skin of who wears it. Ancient Egyptian pharaohs considered the ruby a magical stone, able to provide health, happiness and long life to those who kept it in close contact with their skin. According to Roberto Coin, the ruby is a "romantic way to wish the best to all the people wearing my pieces.” Here we have an 18k yellow gold diamond Capri pendant. The pendant is pave set with full cut diamonds, and is suspended from a 17" double chain.
